Terms & Conditions for KG Hypnobirthing 

Booking

A booking does not constitute the creation of a contract and the teacher reserves the right to decline a booking for any reason whatsoever. If the booking cannot be fulfilled the teacher will promptly refund all monies.  If paying a deposit with the date of course unspecified you may request a refund within 14 days.  

 

Participant Cancellation

Once course dates are agreed the fees are non-refundable although it may be possible to reschedule private courses.  The course fee will be refunded promptly and in full if your baby is born before the course starts or in the unlikely event that the course is cancelled by the teacher. These are the only circumstances that a refund will be made.

 

Course Cancellation

The teacher reserves the right to cancel the course or amend times, dates or published prices. Changes will be advised to participants promptly and any previously booked course will not be subject to price rises.

 

Intellectual Property

Any recording or written material included as part of this course or arising from the course and all rights worldwide (including Intellectual Property Rights) relating thereto are the sole property of Katharine Graves, KG Hypnobirthing Ltd, or others from whom such rights may be derived (whether or not protected by trademark or copyright laws) and may not be used other than for the personal use of the participant without obtaining prior written permission. The participant agrees not to record the course or any part of.

 

Data Protection

You agree that the teacher should hold your details on file and on computer and, in accordance with current data protection laws, you are able to view your individual file by giving notice in writing.  Please see our Privacy Policy.

Using KG Hypnobirthing techniques is not a substitute for the advice or presence during birth or any part of pregnancy of a qualified medical practitioner, registered midwife or obstetrician. It does not represent in fact or otherwise an alternative to appropriate medical care or professional medical advice in any way shape or form.

Any questions or doubts that you have about the use of KG Hypnobirthing should be discussed with your medical caregiver prior to undertaking the course.

Terms and Conditions & Consent Form for Pregnancy Services / Postnatal Services / Breastfeeding Consultations

You will be asked to read, check and sign a copy of this at the first consultation

A Midwife is a specialist in normal pregnancy, birth and postnatal care.  In the event of deviations from normal you will be offered referral to or advised to contact appropriate medical expertise.  You are, of course, able to decline any such referral.

 

An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant holds a professional qualification and is an expert in breastfeeding support. The IBCLC will recommend contacting a doctor about medical issues.

The consultation may, as appropriate, include:

  • a detailed medical history of mother or birthing person & infant/s,

  • an assessment of agult / infant anatomy (which may include touch with your consent),

  • observation of feeding to evaluate technique and effectiveness of feeding,

  • recommendations for care during pregnancy, birth or postnatally,

  • recommendations for management to improve and / or resolve breastfeeding issues.

 

The client and the Midwife / IBCLC each have responsibilities

The client is asked to confirm the following:

I understand that I am responsible for informing the Midwife / IBCLC of changes I feel are necessary in the care plan at the time of the consultation or during the course of follow up communication. Telephone contact to follow up is considered an extension of this consultation.  

I understand it is my responsibility to contact the Midwife / IBCLC with progress reports or questions.  

I understand that further appointments are sometimes necessary and may incur additional fees.  

I understand that equipment such as breast pumps may sometimes be recommended to manage specific situations and it will be my responsibility to acquire any such equipment.  

I understand that where breastfeeding is the aim there may be situations where the Midwife / IBCLC recommends appropriate use of supplementation.  

I understand that any change from a doctor's recommendations should be discussed with the doctor and that health care issues of a medical nature should be discussed with a doctor.  

I authorise the Midwife / IBCLC to provide my GP / HV or other HCP with information about this consultation on my request.  

I understand that the IBCLC may contact my GP / HV or other HCP if the IBCLC feels it necessary to consult with them - this will be discussed before contact is made unless they is an urgent concern and a legal duty of care.  

I understand this is a paid-for service, separate to the NHS, and that payment is expected prior to or at the consultation.  

I give permission for information about my consultation to be used for case studies, lactation articles, teaching or audit as long as it is anonymised.  

I give permission for any photos and / or videos taken with my consent to be used in the following ways:

  • for teaching professionals           Yes / No / Only if my face cannot be seen

  • for teaching other women           Yes / No / Only if my face cannot be seen

  • for articles in print                        Yes / No / Only if my face cannot be seen

  • online                                            Yes / No / Only if my face cannot be seen

I understand that my details and notes from the consultation will be kept in accordance with current data protection laws and I consent to this.  
